  • Chase Family Movement Disorders Center designated the first Information and Referral Center in CT by American Parkinson's Disease Association.

$1.25 million Granted Headache Center for Headache Research and Administration 

  • The Migraine Research Foundation closed at the end of 2021, directing more than $1.25 million to the Headache Center to be used for headache research and administration of its ongoing grants program.
  • MRF Founder and Executive Director Cathy Glaser was named co-chair of the Headache Center’s Research Council and will work with Co-Chair Dr. Brian Grosberg, the Center’s medical director.

American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM) Laboratory Accreditation

  • Hartford Hospital’s EEG Lab received the American Board of Registration of Electronencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologist Accreditation, making it the first lab in CT to receive this accreditation.

National MS Society Center for Comprehensive MS Care

Joint Commission Advanced Certification in spine surgery

  • The spine programs at MidState Medical Center and St. Vincent’s Medical Center have achieved Joint Commission Advanced Certification in spine surgery, two of six the country to do so.

  • Backus Hospital achieved recertification as a Primary Stroke Center by the Joint Commission
  • St. Vincent’s is recognized as an Advanced Primary Stroke Center of Excellence by the Joint Commission
  • Charlotte Hungerford Hospital (CHH) has become a Primary Stroke Center, a certification given by the Joint Commission given to those who establish a consistent and exceptional approach to Stroke and Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA) patient care in our community.
